Suzanne Collins in Central Park
Suzanne Collins is an American television writer and novelist. She is the creator of the Underland Chronicles and the Hunger Games trilogy.

Born on August 10, 1962 in Hartford, CT, she began her career as a children's TV writer, and made her way to becoming a best selling author.

Her first book series, the Underland Chronicles became a New York Times best selling series. Her inspiration for this series came from Alice in Wonderland, when Suzanne thought what you might find if you fell down a manhole, rather than a rabbit hole.

In 2008, Suzanne released the first book in the Hunger Games trilogy, which would soon receive critical acclaim and, eventually, a movie adaption of her beloved novels.
